Body, Trauma, and Female Agency in Capelli dappertutto by Tea Tulić
Conversation with the author – University of Padua, 13 November 2025
On Thursday, 13 November 2025, at 10:30 a.m., in Room 12 of the Beato Pellegrino Building at the University of Padua, the meeting entitled “Body, Trauma, and Female Agency in Capelli dappertutto by Tea Tulić” will take place – a conversation with the Croatian author dedicated to the depiction of the female body and traumatic experience in contemporary women’s writing.
The event is part of the scientific activities of the PRIN 2022 project “From Post-Trauma to Ecology: Contemporary Gender Narratives in Slavic Cultural Texts” (Prot. 2022S3XZZ5, CUP F53D23005720006, D84B24001210001) and is under the scientific direction of Monica Fin, Professor of Serbian and Croatian Literature at the Department of Linguistic and Literary Studies (DiSLL) at the University of Padua.
The organising committee is composed of Monica Fin, Vini Mušac, and Chiara Serra.
In her novel Capelli dappertutto, Tea Tulić explores through an intimate and fragmented prose the relationship between loss, memory, and the reconstruction of identity, offering a powerful portrayal of the female body as a space of resistance and rebirth. The event will provide an opportunity to delve deeper into the themes of trauma and agency through the author’s own voice, in direct dialogue with scholars and students.
The initiative is supported by the Italian Ministry of University and Research, the European Union – NextGenerationEU, the Croatian Ministry of Science, Education and Youth, the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Rome, and in collaboration with the Republički zavod za kulturne delatnosti (Institute of Culture and Media)
